Service September - fantastic everyone who has brought their Passports back so far!

Look at these amazing people who have taken the Service September Challenge. Everyone else in R14 please bring your Passports back tomorrow!

We have done a lot of different things for our whanau - folding washing, looking after younger siblings, picking up rubbish at the beach, bringing the neighbour's wheelie bin in for them and the list goes on!

This made us feel proud, responsible, happy.
This made others feel glad, helped out and proud.

Lynley from Water Safety New Zealand was visiting today!

How can you tell someone is having trouble in the water?

What can you use and do to help someone who is having trouble staying afloat in the water?Call for help!Don't leave them
A bucket?

A ball?

A large empty plastic bottle?something that floats that they can hold on to and you throw it close to them

Watching and calling out asking "Are you okay?"

Act out a scenario - 2 parents on their phones!! Giving the drowning person a bucket to hole onto Calling to parents
Shout out to see if the drowning person can hear you - they can't usually shout back as water is going in their mouths!Don't forget to shout out around you for help!

How long ago did the first man walk on the moon?

Mrs Cammell (who teaches us on Wednesday mornings) asked us this question this week! What do you know?

The above website is a great way to learn about current events! Please have a browse and see what you can find out about the world and what is happening in New Zealand! It is run by volunteer New Zealand teachers.

We then had a great STEM challenge to try! Making our own rockets and see how we trialled them... I'm not sure if we can make it to the moon but everyone has got to start somewhere!
