Great class photos! We also had to say goodbye to our AUT teacher student - Miss Marshall. We will miss her - we think she is going to be an awesome teacher! But Miss Marshall will be back at the end of T4 to help us in the classroom! Thank you Will for bringing in the New Zealand flag!! It looked great in our whole school photo!
Welcome to Room 14's blog for 2019. We are an awesome Year 3 class and our teacher is Mrs Trembath. We are looking forward to working together and learning lots of exciting and new things this year! Check our blog regularly to see what we have been up to. We would love to read your comments.

Literacy Week begins!
The first 2 days:
As part of our activities we made big bookmarks using origami - they are really creative and fun! |
At our Poetry Festival today Courtney said her poem to the whole Koru Whanau and learnt it off by heart - awesome! |
Maddie said her poem too and added her own gestures as well. Excellent performance Maddie! |
Stefanie read in a beautiful clear voice and used plenty of expression! |
All the Year 3 finalist received a certificate for their efforts! |

Service September - fantastic everyone who has brought their Passports back so far!
Look at these amazing people who have taken the Service September Challenge. Everyone else in R14 please bring your Passports back tomorrow!
We have done a lot of different things for our whanau - folding washing, looking after younger siblings, picking up rubbish at the beach, bringing the neighbour's wheelie bin in for them and the list goes on!
This made us feel proud, responsible, happy.
This made others feel glad, helped out and proud.

Lynley from Water Safety New Zealand was visiting today!
How can you tell someone is having trouble in the water?
What can you use and do to help someone who is having trouble staying afloat in the water?Call for help!Don't leave them
A bucket?
A ball?
A large empty plastic bottle?something that floats that they can hold on to and you throw it close to them
Watching and calling out asking "Are you okay?"
Act out a scenario - 2 parents on their phones!! Giving the drowning person a bucket to hole onto Calling to parents
Shout out to see if the drowning person can hear you - they can't usually shout back as water is going in their mouths!Don't forget to shout out around you for help!
